VSC (SMVI) backups fail with VmMapToStorage

I've been running VSC backup of a datastore on one head of a filer without issue.  I recently added a  new datastore on the other head and added the other head to the storage systems list in the Backup and Recovery screen.  I now get the error message below when the SMVI backup is kicked off.

Job XXXXXX failed: FLOW-11019: Failure in VmMapToStorage: Current rules require calling a different version of nfs-exportfs-list-rules. (errno=13215)

This is to the original backup job without any new job created for the second datastore.   If I removed the second head from the Storage Systems list, backups work normally.

I've not been able to find any reference to this message.  Any input to cause / resolution would be appreciated.

Thanks
