Maybe you will not believe it but I cannot find documentation on a boring issue.
I cannot get the CIFS management of a NetApp 8.1.3 7Mode using the old but good "Connect to another computer" from the Server Manager (MMC) of a Windows 2008 R2 server.
The laconic message I get is attached.
Of course CIFS is running, the logged user on the server is a local Administrator, is BUILTIN\Administrators member on the NetApp and this can get access to any share including C$ and Admin$.
Same actions from an XP client works fine.
Rumors reported me some change in registry, some in local security policies but I cannot find details neither on support/communities pages or in the web.
Suggestions? Solutions?
Thank you in advance.
Regards.

Just discovered. Server Manager works ONLY for Windows 2008 Servers. For other computers Computer Manager must be used.
You can found in Administrative Tools and/or run it from CLI with compmgmt.msc.
From Computer Manager you can access to the filer with no issues at all.
