I want to try 7-mode to clustered data ontap transition using snapmirror.
I will create intercluster LIF for clustered data ontap.
Which IP in 7-mode should this LIF be able to communicate with?
Management LIF in clustered data ontap are all on e0M, other ports are Data LIF only.

Any interface on 7-Mode can be used as long as it has connectivity to corresponding C-Mode LIF.

You can use the following to prep for the process and start the transition.
However you will want to use nearly any interface that is reachable by the intercluster LIFs on the clustered ONTAP system (aside from e0M which will have lower throughput).

Create an intercluster lif on a network that could communicate with the IP on the 7-mode interface.
If you have enough physical ports on 7-mode. You could configure a new interface with a separate network (intercluster network maybe?) then create a LIF on the cluster with an IP from this network.

You can also use the 7mode transition tool for this migration.
