Can't access FAS2040 web GUI

Hello,

We have a FAS2040 and we are doing an inital setup and trying to get access to the web GUI. We go through the inital setup and add the HTTP license. After, we try to access the root file to add the ontap install. We get asked for credientials and enter them but get denied access or we do not have permission. We are on an admin account with no restrictions. We have tried every combination of username and passwords but with no luck. If we try to access the GUI without the ontap file installed we get an error saying "servlets are not enabled", that is in chrome. If we try to access it through IE it is a Page Can't be Displayed. Any help is welcomed.

GHowe -

The web GUI (Filerview) is not supported in 8.X.

Download and use OnCommand System Manager instead.

Hi,

For Data ONTAP® 8.0 7-Mode Software Setup Guide you can refer below document

https://library.netapp.com/ecm/ecm_download_file/ECMM1253880

System Manager is a graphical management interface that enables you to manage storage systems
and storage objects (such as disks, volumes, and aggregates) and perform common management tasks
related to storage systems from a web browser.
You can use System Manager to manage storage systems running the following versions of Data
ONTAP:
• Data ONTAP 7.3.7)
• Data ONTAP 8.0.4 and 8.0.5 operating in 7-Mode
• Data ONTAP 8.1.2
• Data ONTAP 8.1.3
• Data ONTAP 8.2

The below document provides information about how to configure, manage, and monitor Data ONTAP 7.3.x
(starting from 7.3.7) and Data ONTAP 8.0.x and 8.1.x operating in 7-Mode storage systems and
storage objects by using OnCommand System Manager
