Changing controller identifier

Good Morning all,

I feel like this problem is easily solved but im not sure about how to go about it the best way, or if im just overthinking it. Basically im building a new AFF-A150, and during the initial setup process I accidentally began with Controller B instead of Controller A, which made Controller B my "clustername-01" node. This isn't really a big deal but for the sake of uniformity across all my NetApp systems (all 2 node systems) i've wanted my clustername-01 node to be controller A and clustername-02 to be controller B. Would this be as easy as changing the LIF names for my 4 cluster SVM LIFS and 2 node management LIFS or is this something else I would need to do?

a bunch of easy steps.

First, rename the nodes

node rename clustername-01 clustername-02x (temporary)

node rename clustername-02 clustername-01

(rename cluster LIFs)

net int rename -vserver Cluster -lif clustername-02_clus1 clus1 (this will be fixed below)

net int rename -vserver Cluster -lif clustername-02_clus2 clus2 (this will be fixed below)

net int rename -vserver Cluster -lif clustername-01_clus1 clus1

net int rename -vserver Cluster -lif clustername-01_clus2 clus2

node rename clustername-02x clustername-02 (temp fixed here)

net int rename -vserver Cluster -lif clustername-02x_clus1 clus1

net int rename -vserver Cluster -lif clustername-02x_clus2 clus2

Then rename any mgmt LIFs

net int rename -vserver admin_svm -lif clustername-01_mgmt1 clustername-02_mgmt

net int rename -vserver admin_svm -lif clustername-02_mgmt1 clustername-01_mgmt

You sould rename the root aggrs (verify with aggr show)

aggr rename node02_root root_01

aggr rename node01_root root_02

If needed, rename any data aggregates for each node.

Thanks sir! Figured it would be something like this. Appreciate you taking the time to write out the syntax 🙂

Yep,  You'd just need to rename everything.
Nodes, LIFs etc.
