Create network traffic

Hi Everyone,

We have a network monitoring tool called Splunk which requires to see the devices active on the network.

with our office closed, there is very little activity on the nodes and Splunk is not seeing the nodes as active.

What is the best way to create traffic on the network?

Full disclosure I am very new to this, and have very little knowledge of commands.

Tried Ping and could not find it.

is there such a thing as a keep alive heart bit of some sort?

appreciate any answers.

Hi,

Don't you have any other monitoring tool to verify the nodes? AIQUM? OCUM? Zabbix? They would generate some traffic (almost negligible) which I don't know if it's sufficient for Splunk.

To ping from the cluster nodes outbound, you use: network ping -vserver X -lif LIF_X -destination dest_IP

Regards,

Pedro

Thank you Pedro.

I have been doing some research and it seems there is a Splunk add-on which needs to be installed.
