Data Ontap 8.2.x 7-mode - sync volume snapmirror + deduplication on the same aggregate

Hi,

We are using synchronous volume snapmirror between two pairs of FAS8020 running 8.2.4 7-mode and I've noticed the following restriction regarding volume replication using syncmirror  +  using deduplication on volumes in the same aggregate:

A volume with a synchronous or a semi-synchronous SnapMirror relationship should not be placed in the same aggregate as a volume using deduplication.   (ref.: https://library.netapp.com/ecmdocs/ECMP1368826/html/GUID-3F1D5CD0-8E81-44FC-8851-F5664E6DE35F.html)

Is there any special reason for this restriction? Because we can enable deduplication on volumes in the same aggregate among with other volumes replicating synchronously with no warnings.  I couldn't find any documentation about this.

Thanks!

Just a guess, but performance reasons.
