Back when we were running ONTAP 8.3, we were using the event destination and event route commands to forward all events to an external logging server. To be clear, literally all events the NetApp generates are added to the "allevents" event route, and those events are forwarded to our syslog server.
After upgrading to 9.1, the event destination and event route commands still work, though they're deprecated in favor of the event notification command set. Do I need to work through the event notification commands to get all events to forward to our syslog server, or can I leave it alone and trust that it'll continue doing what it's supposed to? How deprecated is deprecated when it comes to ONTAP 9.3?
