High Disk Utilization on NetApp FAS

Hi,

We are currently experiencing high disk utilization on our NetApp FAS. most of the time the utilization is peaking at around 95-100%.

We barely manage with this but there are times where application gets slower.

I have collected WAFLTOP logs, Sysstats and Statit commands, But I am not sure on what specific fields to check where the bottleneck is while having high I/O Utilization (Storage Level, Application Level, etc.)

System: NetApp FAS3250 (ONTAP 8.2.4P6 7-Mode)

Any feedback would be much appreaciated.

Regards,

The first thing listed there is SHARING in walftop. That is deduplication (I should add that to the wafltop KB if it's not already). Please stop dedupe and reassess.

Best practice is to run deduplication/snapmirror jobsStaggered Every x Minutes.
