Hi All,

I need to create about 5000 home directories. Whats the ebst way to do so?

I know i can create dynamic share names with %w, but can i dynamically create the necessary qtrees for each individual user?

Hi!

do you already have had quotas on 7mode Filer? I wrote a per script to migrate everything you need from old/etc/quotas file on 7mode NetApp.

Do you have list of users and desired quota size?

I don't now a method to create new Home Directories for new users dynamically. Does someone know this?

hi,

the cusomter is currently using EMC so its not a  7 mode tranisition. When i was presenting cDOT one of the guys asked me does he ahve to manually create a qtree for each home directory.

Hi,

no one qtree is enough. All user home directories are in this qtree. CISF shares are provided dynamically.

E.g. \\filer\username$

When you create a list of usernames and desired quotas, all scripts and settings can be generated from my perl script.
