How to configure and access a new FAS2700

Hello

I have a new FAS2700 and I am trying to access and configure the device. I have been following the steps indicated here: https://library.netapp.com/ecm/ecm_download_file/ECMLP2842666 but I am lost.

I am trying to use the FAS2700 simply as a file server. I need to get the MAC Address of the device so that my organization allows it on the network. I have tried to connect the Management port to my laptop but there seems to be no connection.

How can I find out the MAC address of my FAS2700?

How can I console into the server and start to configure it?

Do I need to use Active IQ Config Advisor to configure the server?

Thank you in advance

Do you have any shelves that connect to the system?

First you'll need to cable up the Cluster cables, mgmt ports, and power  per the diagram in the link you posted.

Second you'll need to setup the basic Cluster info.  I prefer the serial cable method, I don't think I've ever done the gui /ip setup out of the box.

Hey SpindleNinja,

Thank you for the response and all the helpful information! I will start working on doing those steps. I may ask for help if I get stuck.

And I do not have any shelves that are connected to the system.
