Hello, my friends,

I am looking for documentation or steps how to upgrade VSC 7.2.1 to VSC 9.7.

I know about document "how to upgrade to VSC 9.6 from 7.x" https://docs.netapp.com/vapp-96/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.netapp.doc.vsc-dsg%2FGUID-91C61F51-0031-4224-BAED-9E5CD97DB392.html

And I found  "how to upgrade to VSC 9.7.1 from 9.7" https://docs.netapp.com/vapp-96/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.netapp.doc.vsc-dsg%2FGUID-91C61F51-0031-4224-BAED-9E5CD97DB392.html

But there is an information gap in the upgrade from 9.6 to 9.7.

So how can I upgrade VSC 7.2.1 to VSC 9.7?

You can use the the "In Place upgrade" function to upgrade the 9.6 Appliance to 9.7 and from 9.7 to the latest release..

If you are using SRA 4.0P1, then you must first upgrade to SRA9.6 and only then you can perform an in-place upgrade of the SRA 9.6 to the latest release.

Upgrading to the 9.7.1 virtual appliance for VSC, VASA Provider, and SRA

Note: A direct upgrade from any release prior to 9.7 to 9.7P2 or later is not supported by the virtual appliance for VSC, VASA Provider, and SRA.You should first upgrade your existing setup to the 9.7 release of the virtual appliance for VSC, VASA Provider, and SRA before upgrading to any later release.
