How to use the OSSV Agent to backup MS Sql Server 2003 ???????????????

We are currently working on a central backup solution for 16 remote offices, our remote offices mainly have windows file servers &  windows sql servers that need to be backup. From my understanding is that OSSV can backup file share data and ms sql 2k5 without a problem however how would you backup earlier verisons of SQL (SQL2k3) with the OSSV Agent??

Thanks

Christian

You'd want to shut down SQL before the OSSV backup takes place, to get a consistent image of the database.

Alternative would be to use NetApp storage for the remote office SQL databases with SnapManager for SQL,

then use integrated remote backup capability integration with Protection Manager...

I hope this response has been helpful to you.

Hi Eugene

Thank you for your fast response, is it maybe possibe to use the backup utlity built in SQL to backup the databases and than use the OSSV Agent to get it to the central location? In this case do you think deduplication would still be effcective.
