ONTAP Discussions
Hi,
I am using NetApp with 8.2 cluster mode.
Given a IP address of veserver ,Is there any way to identify a vserver's ONTAP version without using username and password.
Hi Suresh,
Since there is no SNMP for Vservers, I do not know of a way to obtain ONTAP's version without a user name and password.
If you have the cluster address, the sysDescr MIB entry contains ONTAP's version.
Regards,

You can use Certificate based authentication to get the version of the system for the vserver if you could install the client certificate in ONTAP prior to this.
A rough set of steps is here : https://communities.netapp.com/community/interfaces_and_tools/developer/blog/2013/07/30/using-sdk-with-certificate-based-authentication-cba
