You, sir, were handed the blue pill. In other words, you were given root creds to a vfiler.
You can't escape the vfiler, so you'll need credentials and management ips for the hosting 7mode system to get at the version and sysconfig commands.
vfiler command set:
test7m> vfiler run vf1 ? ===== vf1 ? igroup nis snap arp ipsec options snaplock cifs iscsi passwd snapmirror clone keymgr ping snapvault config lock ping6 traceroute df logout qtree traceroute6 dns lun quota useradmin du nbtstat radius vol echo ndmpcopy route vscan exportfs ndmpd sectrace wcc fpolicy ndp secureadmin ypcat fsecurity netstat setup ypgroup help nfs sftp ypmatch hostname nfsstat sis ypwhich test7m>
Real filer command set:
test7m> ? ? fpolicy nis sis acpadmin fsecurity options smtape aggr ftp orouted snap arp halt partner snaplock autosupport help passwd snapmirror backup hostname ping snapvault bmc httpstat ping6 snmp cdpd ic pktt software cf ifconfig portset source charmap ifgrp priority sp cifs ifstat priv stats clone igroup qtree storage config ipsec quota sysconfig coredump ipspace radius sysstat date iscsi rdate system dcb key_manager rdfile timezone df keymgr reallocate traceroute disk license reboot traceroute6 disk_fw_update lock restore ups dns logger restore_backup uptime download logout revert_to useradmin du lun rlm version dump man route vfiler echo maxfiles routed vlan ems mt rshstat vmservices environment nbtstat sasadmin vol exportfs ndmpcopy sasstat vscan fcadmin ndmpd savecore wcc fcnic ndp sectrace wrfile fcp netdiag secureadmin ypcat fcstat netstat setup ypgroup file nfs sftp ypmatch flexcache nfsstat shelfchk ypwhich test7m>
The command to find the version is just "version"
if you see on the provided available commands "version" not found. It seems to be older systems not sure which ONTAP is running.

What's the model number of the controller?
You can also try running "sysconfig -v" That command has been around a long while.
Here's an example from a F330
even from the CLI am not able to find the model of the filer
also when i tried "sysconfig" with root, the error message says as below,
sysconfig not found. Type '?' for a list of commands
can you run "options"
Yes i was able to run & here is the output,
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~= PuTTY log 2018.11.12 08:50:28 =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=

That was driving me batty trying to figure out what the heck was that... Haven't touched those in years.
Actually I am not sure what are these?
Can you help me with the some good documents for better understanding
vFilers were part of the multistore feature, which provided secure multitenancy back in the 7mode days.
Here's a good place to start:
https://library.netapp.com/ecmdocs/ECMP1222473/html/GUID-AC776453-E3CA-4509-BEAD-3DCDD8A46FCA.html
Then read through the multistore management guide:
https://library.netapp.com/ecm/ecm_download_file/ECMP1155585
How do we confirm running options command vfiler is configured?
