Hello to all
We use VMware with NFS datastore, lost of virtual machines inside.
We need to migrate the volume to SSD aggregate, we used VmwareStorageMotion before , no worries with that.
My question is about "volume move" , previously i had moved volumes with CIFS or snapmirror destination.
But never tried a volume inside virtual machines alive .
Any experience with that?,any issues?
will it create downtime?
can you share your thoughts with that issue
regards

Hello ORCUN_USTURALI,
I did it many times in the past with no issues or downtime. I recommend to do it on low system utilization hours, and manual cutover to manage the best moment to trigger the move.
You can create a little datastore with some testing Virtual Machine to check all the steps before migration of the production volumes.
Kind regards,
Albert
