NTP verification with Clustered Data ONTAP 8.3

Does cDOT 8.3 "compares internal information system clocks at least every 24 hours with an authoritive time server"?

I've referenced https://kb.netapp.com/support/s/article/how-to-configure-and-troubleshoot-ntp-on-clustered-data-ontap-8-2-and-later-using-cli?language=en_US and the ntpdate command seems to work fine, yet when I review the /mroot/etc/mlog/messages* files, I see no "kernel time sync enabled" entries or any other indications that ntp has queried the defined time servers for synchronization.
