NetApp License File (NLF)

Hi All,

Just want asking. Previous our customer use the old license file and now support already help me generated new NLF file (single file) to replace to the old license key file.

My question is for the NLF file that I received, is it also know as ONTAP One license? I quite confused is it the NLF file is same or refer to ONTAP One license. Thanks

That is the ONE license fine. Sometimes confusing as platforms that had less than fill licensing might get one or two or even three license files. Either way apply and go. 

any system capable of running ONTAP 9.10 or higher is eligible for the new NLF format

TMAC is right. If they gave you only one file, it's highly likely it is the ONTAP One License.

I did a video about how to get the NLF from the Support Site, but it was before ONTAP One existed. I should probably update it. 😎

Yes, I received 1 NLF from support after request their assistance to generate for me. But I statement of in the email stated that "

Please note that there is no Data Pro bundle booked for these SN, hence we can not upgrade it to ONTAP ONE". That why i confused is it the NLF file that I received considered as NetApp One license or not. You can refer below screenshot on the email.

The ONE license file is for customers who purchased the full license bundle for the platform. If you did not get the full bundle then you end up getting  one or more NLFs to cover the licenses that were actually purchased.
