It also will make a rock-solid iSCSI target forever (given that the iSCSI spec is pretty solid) so not bad for raw space but backed by RAID DP/WAFL/disk scrubs/etc.

And....I just had a customer this week where I helped them upgrade their 2020/3020's to 7.3.2 which left their StoreVaults behind on 7.2.x. While the Volume SnapMirrors did break (as we expected), the StoreVaults are still working fine for both iSCSI and CIFS (even though we raised the functional domain level to Windows 2003 Native).

We purchase a SV300 and SV500 and now need to replace 250G drive for the SV300. We do not have support (seem seneless since they drop support). Wondering where we can replace the drive. Can we purchase from from Seagate directly? Heard the SV has firmware that only allows drives from NetApp (OEM). Is this true or we can replace the drives with other SATA drives from other vendors.

Did you ever find a solution to replacing a drive?  We have the same issue on an S550.  Our device is not even 3 years old and Netapp will not support.
