ONTAP Select 9.6 ESX & datastore requirements

I'm trying to install ONTAP Select 9.6 one-node cluster on vCenter/ESXi servers.

After installing the OVF Deploy image, I'm going thru the configuration to install ONTAP Select.

The main thing is that I don't want to harm my existing ESXi/datastore servers by this installation.

So, do I need a brand new ESX server or can I use an existing ESX server with some existing datastore in use on which I a few  VMs reside when it's asking on the section where it shows Hardware RAID setup?

I'm scared if it's going to wipe out my existing VMs or datastore contents in use.

Thanks for your answer in advance!

Do you have a RAID adapter with unused disks available?
