Yes - when you add the host there is an option to provide the login/password for vCenter or ESXi - just deselect "Add from vCenter".

Thank for your answer.
The documentation refers only to the vCenter : « You must have access to the vCenter server managing the ESXi hypervisor hosts where ONTAP Select is deployed »

Seems at least impossible with the ovf deployment, unless someone has a trick?
"You must use a vCenter account to deploy the OVF template. Installing directly to an ESXi host is not currently supported."

Sure, it is in the "known issues" of this doc: https://library.netapp.com/ecm/ecm_download_file/ECMLP2839435

Hell FrenchBlue,
Your link is for ONTAP Select Evaluation and this diffirent from ONTAP Select.
The link you sent to me is for test and not production. ONTAP Select Evaluation is only OVF without Deploy VM and don't check for hardware
The link for Quick Start Guide for ONTAP Select is https://library.netapp.com/ecm/ecm_download_file/ECMLP2838412
From TR 4517 :
1.5 ONTAP Select Evaluation software versus running ONTAP Select in
Evaluation mode
The ONTAP Select version available on the web portal (Downloads/Software) is the full version of the
product that can be run in EVALUATION mode. This means that the client can test the full solution including
ONTAP Deploy, the ONTAP Select setup product. Deploy will check and enforce all minimum requirements
for ONTAP Select which is useful for both documenting the procedure as well as vetting the environment
for suitability.
However, there are times when the test environment does not match the production environment or does
not meet the minimum requirements enforced by ONTAP Deploy. For a quick test of ONTAP Select only,
we are providing an OVF download of ONTAP Select only (Downloads / Product Evaluation). When using
this OVF, the ONTAP Deploy utility is not used but instead you directly install a single node ONTAP Select
cluster, which is capacity and time-limited, just as the single node cluster created using the Deploy tool in
EVALUATION model. The main benefit of the OVF setup is that it lowers the requirements for testing
ONTAP Select.

Hello,
Thanks for the precision, indeed it is not the same ova so not the same requirements/limitations.
