I have a customer that wants to use our SNMP mibs for active polling - instead of waiting for a trap, they would like to be able to actively poll the controllers for SNMP events.
Their question is "Typically when I build a monitor I prefer listening for a SNMP trap but also SNMP poll for the same status. This eliminates issues where, for whatever reason, we miss the SNMP trap we can still see the issue via a proactive SNMP poll."
I am not an SNMP expert but i would like to find out if our storage controllers would response to active SNMP polling.
