QoS: LUN vs Volume if one-LUN-per-volume?

If I'm in an environment where LUNs are provisioned one-per-volume by convention, is there any difference between assigning the volume or the LUN to a policy-group? 

I'd think there is no difference, but wondering if I've considered everything.
