Quota report shows more space used than available in the qtree's volume

A student reported that a quota is showing 18TB used but the size of the volume is only 9TB. Maybe I'm having a brain freeze but what is going on there?

this can occur is fabricpool aggregates with external tier.

run the below command for answers. look at Footprint in Performance Tier & Footprint in external_tier
