WHAC with the following issue on Windows 2003/Exchange 2003 MSCS config with NTFS hardlinks.
SME is not removing the old SME_SnapInfo folders from the log directories. We are showing a few days of the Snapshots in the ~snapshot directory and in SME, but the Snap info goes back to the day we started, which is some months back. The customer is running out of disk space on the on their log LUN and wants to know if it's OK to manually delete the old backups as well as why this behavior exists.
This is a highly visible NYC financial customer and they are opening a case with NetApp support.
Any guidance will be much appreciated.

You can delete the old snapinfo directories manually assuming you don't need those backups anymore.
One of the reasons SME does not delete old snapinfo is that you created a backup using different backup management group a while back, you also enable retain up-to-minute restore ability for backups in other backup management groups option during normal backup.
Thanks,
