We are trying to get the SnapVault agent to run in a WinPE (BartPE) environment so we can perform a bare metal restore without having to first put an image on the hardware and then install the agent. Besides SyncSort, has anyone done this or something similar that streamlines the recovery process utilizing SnapVault restore?

Very interested as well to hear if this worked.
On a related note, I think this a bare-metal approach would be quite feasible if using VMware -- can run OSSV in the service console and backup/restore VM's that way easily.

In summary, NetApp OSSV does not support BMR. You have to use 3rd party OSSV implementations to achieve this.
