Snapmirror over FC - do I require FCP license ?

Hello,
I have a customer who has 2 x FAS3040s on seperate sites that present storage via NFS/CIFS.  His IP link is nearly at capacity, and he has a large FC dark fibre link between the sites so wants to implement Snapmirror over FC.

Currently he doesnt have the FCP license on either FAS.  Is this required for Snapmirror over FC ?

It is not required, but you need special controllers for SM over FC.

The FCP license is only needed if the filer will be serving luns. In the case of Snapmirror over FC, the only required license is snapmirror. The primary requirement are the necessary FC-NIC cards
