VSC (smvi) snapshot size

Hi Guys,

I am running smvi snapshots for VMs every night, the size of the snapshots seems to be weired for me

some days the snapshot size is around 120GB (total size of VMs around 1.5TB) and some days snapshot size is around 30GB and even less (mainly the oldest snapshot is high in size, I keep 4 days snapshots)

I am confused why its like that, does the snapshots works on incremental basis ? what if I remove the older snapshots manually ? , does the restore VM works fine even though if I remove the old bigger snapshot ?

Chan,

        The more you change your VM data, more your snapshot will grow. Snapshot's are independent from each other. So, if you delete the oldest one, there will be no problem to restore other snapshots.

        If you take the snapshot today, and you change the VM data at 90%, your snapshot will have the size of 90% of the production data. Understand?
