background DOT operations like clone splits and unsis are very slow in Cmode when compared with 7Mode

Hi all,

Has anyone else observed behaviours like this.

Lightly loaded node (FAS6220) in a CDOT cluster (8.2.1RC2), we run the following operation

Unsis of a 4.5Tb volume, it takes about 18 DAYS!

Run the same operation on an old N7700 or FAS2040, takes about 12 hours

Support tells me this is NORMAL and EXPECTED, and oh don't run unsis on a volume. So we wont do that again.

But we recent ran a bunch of flexclone splits

A 14.7Gb volume took 1hr 34 minutes

1.5Tb volume has been running for 4 days, and its about 200Gb done

4.5Tb volume has been running for 4 days, and its about 200Gb done

I have extrapolated that the 4.5Tb clone split will take about.... 18 DAY's

We do this operation on our very old N7700, and it takes.... about 12 hours

Again support tells us its all NORMAL and EXPECTED, and its a very slow operation, and your filers are doing to much.

As anyone else experienced anything like this with the transition from 7mode to Cmode
