disk slicing

Hi, I have a questions for FAS2554. Find some documents that for FAS2550 types, disk slicing can get value. For the initial, DS can be done. But if later, more disk shelves need to be added, does it need do disk slicing again? Can I redo disk sclicing without stop our services? Thanks! Mark
