Hi,
I'm trying to protect against a kind of strange situation, where a switch maintains an "up" link, but fails to forward frames. This is with e0a and e0b in an ifgrp, and the switch connected to the active link goes braindead. I can't see any way to detect this sort of thing and cleanly failover without external intervention (my one thought was to let Nagios detect this and force the link to failover). This is with ONTAP 8.1, cluster mode.
Thanks!
Sean

Can't say for C-Mode, but 7-Mode has interface probing for single mode ifgrp. So it should detect such condition (although I admit to not fully understand how it actually works).

Hmm, I'll check that out, thanks.
