is NetApp SAN Array (ASA) a new feature or new product?

heard NetApp SAN Array (ASA). Not sure it is a new ONTAP feature  or a new product.  Just wondering if we have it on our  AFF300 and AFF800 after upgraded to 9.7? thanks.

It's technically a separate product. it even has its own section in the HWU.    Upgrading ONTAP won't enable it.   

It's SAN (block) only and modifications were made to ONTAP to have it function as a symmetrical SAN array.

It's a software difference, but it requires a setup. It has to be purchased that way. It is not included in 9.7 as a free feature.
