mixing x357 and x358 disks in AFF-A300 in the same node

Good Evening Members,

We have a NetApp AFF-A300 with one expansion shelf with 12 X358 disks, can we add 12 X357 Disks in the expansion. Will the aggreagates expand? or do we need to create a new aggregate with the X357 disk?

Hello, sorry to say that you cannot mix these two drives types in the same controller due to the x358 being NSE FIPS.   There is a boot arg needed to enabled NSE drives on systems and if you enable it, you also disable non-NSE drives.
