recommendations for backing up etc directory

Hi Experts,

I just want to hear your recommendations or even how you guys do it in your environment.  etc contains many important config file, Snapmirror, exports, cifs. I wonder whats the best way to back it up? currently we just take daily snapshot of vol0. How do you guys do this in your environment?

We back it up via an NFS mount to a media server.  You could do the same with a CIFS share.

You can use ndmp, though it seems like overkill for such a small data set.

snapvault the volume everyday or weekly onces. Thats work great then the manual ndmpcopy.

If you want it for one time, I would prefer just securecopy from windows host or scp from linux.

You can do a "config dump" as well to backup your configuration.
