I have a snapmirror relationship set up between two filers and have network compression enabled.
Sometimes, 'snapmirror status -l' shows the compression ratio while the transfer is taking place. Other times, the same command doesn't show any compression information during the transfer.
Has anybody else seen this?

The Compression Ratio should only show in the 'snapmirror status -l' output while the relationship is in a Transferring state. If the relationship is in an idle state, the compression ratio field will not be present in the output of 'snapmirror status -l'.
If you have a scenario where the relationship is in a transferring state and not showing the Compression Ratio, can you provide me the output of 'snapmirror status -l' for the relationship in a Private Message.

This is normal behavior. Only during the transfer as already answered. You can check /etc/log/snapmirror (.0, .1, .2, etc.) and the log files will show compression so you can see the final result of the compression for each transfer (or see if compression is or isn't working/enabled on a transfer).
