How to create a spare disk

hi all,

I'm a flash man in netapp storage world. i have some questiosn about the setting of spare disk of FAS2040.

DETAILS:

version: 7.3.4

status:

"There are not enough spare disks. /aggr0/plex0/rg0: Please add spare disks to

any pool supporting block checksums with minimum"

NIS-IDD-Filer2> sysconfig -r
Aggregate aggr0(1) (failed, raid_dp, foreign, partial) (block checksums)

what i wanna do is setting device 0c.00.9 as a spare disk for aggr0, then what should i do?

You need to destroy foreign aggregate aggr0(1). Any disk not part of aggregate will be spare disk.

great, after i destoried aggr0(1), device 0c.00.9 becomes spare disk automaticly and the system's global staus also becomes normal.
