Is that possible to use 1 iWARP card in A900 or FAS9500?

Hi,

About the A900 and FAS9500 MCC IP configuration, the priority slot assignment is 5,7 in HWU.

In MCC IP installation guide, e5b and e7b are used as metrocluster interface, which means e5a and e7a are not used.

Is that possible to use 1 card and both ports like A700? Instead of using 2 cards.

If not possible, what is the reason behind it?

Thanks

Lei

You need the 2 cards. Reason being that you do not want to have your MetroCluster traffic go through a single card.

thanks. But there is redandency even with 1 card, becase each card has two ports.

I am curious why A900 is special on this point compare to other platfoms like A700.

It's on the same card. If the card fails, you lose connectivity to the other side for HA failover.

It is still the same slot on the controller. The idea is to be able to not be impacted by the failure of a whole card.
