Upgrading CN1610 to FASTPATH 1.3.0.3 and RCF version: v1.2 with no network access

How do I upgrade my CN1610 switches if i dont have network access? Can I upgrade by connecting with serial port?

connect via the serial port:

Configure the terminal-emulation program to use the following settings:
❖ Baud rate: 9600 bps
❖ Data bits: 8
❖ Parity: none
❖ Stop bit: 1
❖ Flow control: none

set an IP to the management port of the switch and connect it directly to you notebook

 

transfer the file from you notebook to the switch using a scp/tftp/sftp server installed on your notebook

"set an IP to the management port of the switch" How do I do that? Through the serial port? when I connect the RJ45 connector to both end how do I communicate with the switch? I dont know any of the steps. I am learning   in the job 🙂

Here is a KB article that gives you additional information on how to upgrade a CN1601 or CN1610 switches.
