connect via the serial port:

Configure the terminal-emulation program to use the following settings:
❖ Baud rate: 9600 bps
❖ Data bits: 8
❖ Parity: none
❖ Stop bit: 1
❖ Flow control: none

Hi,

You cannot be in the same place as the switch?

Hello pedro_rocha,

Thank you for your reply.

I can, but how do I transfer the upgrade files to the switch?

set an IP to the management port of the switch and connect it directly to you notebook

transfer the file from you notebook to the switch using a scp/tftp/sftp server installed on your notebook

"set an IP to the management port of the switch" How do I do that? Through the serial port? when I connect the RJ45 connector to both end how do I communicate with the switch? I dont know any of the steps. I am learning   in the job 🙂
