hi,
you can see your attached shelves, with port and shelf id number. disk revision and serialnumber of your disks.
your system has 4 shelves. one is only half full.
what is the difference between
0a.shelf1
and
0a.shelf0
or
2c.shelf1 and 2c.shelf0
how many shelves do i have?
“Storage show disk” command list the information about all the disk connected to your storage system. If you are using “-T” option then it’ll list type of disk (FCAL, BSAS etc) with extra column.
Regards,
Gireesh
you have an internal sas connector, and one additional card in your system.
from your output i can see, that you have 1 shelf connected on your onboard port. 3 shelves are connected on your additional card.
one every sas connector you can add 10 shelves per stack. in the past we had loops with 6 shelves a 14 disks.
shelf 0 or shelf 10, is only the shelf id. you can change it like you want.
0a means, that your diskshelf is connected on your onboard sas port.
2a means, that your diskshelf is connected on a additional card (sas).
0 is everytime onboard device.
1, 2, ,3 .... and so on, is an additinal device. pci slots that you can use
what about this
for each shef looks it looks like this in filer view
what are the sqr0 cir and sil?
so the shelves that are connected to the sas card are 2c, 2d, and 2a? what happened to 2b? how many sas ports are there,
shelf 0 or shelf 10, is only the shelf id. you can change it like you want.
what do you mean change it anyway i like? what does that mean.

hi,
you can change the shelf id only on your shelf 😉 this is unique
your sas ports 0b and 2b are disable, maybe there are attached disk shelves. you can use it later....
