Hi,

We have a FAS8040 with 2 different aggregate (one per controller).

Is it raccomended create a new datastore on vmware 6.x with one lun for aggregate (and so one per controller) ?

thanks

Hello @Silve,

To maximize the available performance you would want to utilize both aggregates by creating a volume + LUN (and/or export) on each one and using both datastores.  Is it recommended?  Well, that depends on your needs...will you need more performance than what a single aggregate can provide?  Do you have other workloads that you want to place on the other disks?

If you haven't already, be sure to check out the VMware best practices technical report, TR-4333.
