HI, Alessio!

You can restore VM by "smvi backup restore" command. Usage and example is detailed in guide as below.
I hope this helps.

Hello,

thanks for info but i'm looking for the exactly step that restore perform when you ask to restore a virtual machine.

When you perform a restore VM from a backup in VSC GUI you can see several task under "tasks Vmware".

Is it possible in your opinion to know which are the exactly step that a restore do ?

(clone datastore, mount, registered old vm, register new one,,,, etc etc etc )

regards,

Alessio

Sorry, I misunderstood your first post. What you want to know is what VSC do inside when user initiate restore. Right?

At VM task level, you can check tasks in "Tasks & Events" tab for vCenter.
Or, you may get more detail from vpxd.log - but it is hard to read.

On VSC side, VSC operation is logged in C:\Program Files\NetApp\Virtual Storage Console\smvi\server\log\server.log
