Very high latency on FAS270

Hello,

I experience a terribly high latency from ESX hosts to my storage. The hosts have got 2 dedicated 1Gbps NICs to connect thgough a gb switch to the storage device. The DAVG (device latency) is from 3000 to 5000 ms. and VMs are completely unresponsive. Pings from the hosts to the storage are fine - 0.1ms. How can I troubleshoot it on the storage side?

Can you run "sysstat –x 5" and paste us the results for about 1 minute?

Also, how many and what kind of disks are attached to the FAS270?

Hello,

Thanks for the feedback. I found the issue: it was network2 interface incorrectly set to... wait for it!... 100Mbps half duplex. When set to 1GBps on filer's side and on switch side everything is waiting perfectly.

The old 100Mbps at half duplex trick, works everytime.
