Vsphere 5. 1 and Virtual Storage Console

We are currently at Vsphere 5.0 using the NetApp Virtual Console 4.0 plug-in to backup and restore VMWare snaps. I want to upgrade to Vsphere 5.1 to enable Windows 2012 servers.  Will I need to reinstall the NetApp plug in?  If so, will I need to reschedule backups and will it see the old backups?

Upgrading to ESXi5.1 shouldnt cause any issues, as the plugin is present on the Virtual Center Server.
