The role named "VSC Provision" has these custom privileges that appear to be added that apply only for ONTAP: NetApp ONTAP tools for VMware vSphere View privilege.nvpfVSC.Kamino.Datastore.com.netapp.nvpf.label Manage datastores Provision privilege.nvpfVSC.VASAGroup.com.netapp.nvpf.label View I have tried adding these privs to a custom vcenter role we created for users that are allowed to do most things a power user in vCenter would be able to do but they can't seem to use OTV at all. When they go to the OTV plugin, they can't see anything at all. If I change the role for the user to the "VCS Provision" role and log into vcenter again, they can see what they need to see. So, what privilege is actually being missed? What special thing is happening that OTV is missing or looking for that I'm not noticing?

We are currently running OnTAP Tools 9.11. I see that I can upgrade to 9.13 easily enough, but 10.0 seems to be a different animal altogether. The link belong talks about migrating from 9.x to 10, but I can't find information on upgrading. Does a separate OVA need to be deployed to 'upgrade' to 10? If so I can't find that documented anywhere. The article below talks about being able to migrate from 9.11 "D4", but not from 9.12 or 9.13. If I upgrade to 9.13, will I be able to migrate to 10? Can anyone provide clarity? Thanks in advance. https://docs.netapp.com/us-en/ontap-tools-vmware-vsphere-10/migrate/migrate_to_ng.html

We are trying to direct ONTAP Tools for VMware 9.13 straight to the SVM on a cluster. I've been finding a lot of different documentation on this process and feel like I've followed each of these as closely as possible but it just does not seem to work. I get messages like "can't discover controllers" and stuff like that even though I do believe I have the correct role set up in ONTAP for the svm. I will also share that the OTV appliance does not have any network access to the cluster management IP, only has network access to the SVM management LIF which is on the same network as the OTV appliance. Does anyone here in this forum know if this will work with this configuration where the OTV appliance can't talk to the cluster mgmt IP at all?

Hi There, I have two questions about MCCIP and SMBC need your professional advice. Q1\ In the design of a user's scheme architecture, a set of SMBC and a set of MCCIP are needed, can SMBC share the Ethernet switch equipment of MCCIP? Q2\ In addition, is it possible to deploy a set of mediators to support both MCCIP and SMBC in this solution?

Posting this in case it assists anyone with a similar issue
We encountered an error whilst configuring VMware Site Recovery Manager. Sites fail to pair, SRM shows error "SRA error occurred" appears, without any further information. After uploading the SRA plugin to the SRM Appliance, the Storage Replication Adapters page in SRM reports the message No storage replication adapters installed.
Found this issue on NetApp KB: https://kb.netapp.com/Advice_and_Troubleshooting/Data_Storage_Software/Storage_Replication_Adapter_for_Data_ONTAP/Site_Recovery_Manager_Virtual_Appliance_reports_SRA_Server_is_unable_to_process_SRA_LAUNCH_TASK
Issue is caused by VSC Appliance Administrator password consisting special character $. (In our case we struggled to reset the VSC administrator and maint password so we had to redeploy the VSC-SRA appliance as well)
Resolution: To reset the VSC admin password to one without a '$' sign. (refer to above NetApp KB)
Client environment details:
FAS2750 running ONTAP 9.7P5
Netapp Unified Virtual Appliance for VSC, VASA Provider, SRA 9.7P2
NetApp Storage Replication Adapter 9.7P2
VMware vSphere 7
VMware Site Recovery Manager 8.2.0.2 Virtual Appliance
Realised it wasn't a VMware SRM issue as the "SRA error occurred" error was resolved in SRM 8.2.0.2: https://docs.vmware.com/en/Site-Recovery-Manager/8.2/rn/srm-releasenotes-8-2.html
