Hi, some time ago i installed the 9.7.1 VSC in my vSphere 7.0.1 environment and created a VVOL datastore. I migrated VM's from NFS 4.1 datastores to the VVOL datastore without problems. But when doing a "compute" vMotion the process stuck at 85% for 30 to 40 sec. In this time the VM freezes. I had a NetApp case open, they found nothing in the logs but told me that they currently don't support the 7.0.1 but they adon't know that there are issues in that kind, i should open a case at VMware. VMware made some research but don't found something too in the the logs. To send this case in the next level i should bring my environment to a from VMware supported version, but in the VMware HCL the newest versions are: ESXi 6.5 U3 VASA Provider 7.1P1 (end of support since jan 2019) ONTAP 9.4 (end of support since jun 2019) So VMware closes the case... Today i updated my VSC to 9.7.1P1, but the vMotion issue is still present. So i have an issue and can't get help! Now the environment is supported by NetApp IMT, but this don't help when NetApp told me to open a case at VMware, and they don't help me because NetApp has missed to update the HCL at VMware. This very very bad!!!! NetApp PLEASE!!! Update the HCL at VMware!!!!

Hello, I am a system engineer in magna and we have some netapp 7 mode FAS storage system in production use, now we have updated our VMware vCenter to 6.5 which resulted in the VSC 5.5 doesn’t work normally as usual when sending virtual machine backup job notification email to my leader. So I want to check which vsc version will meet the vcenter 6.5 in IMT but it shows my account is not active. SO, I want to know if I can have right to access the IMT ,or if I can update my account class , I have the S/N info , are they enough? Thx!

Hello, I opened NetApp Log # 2001900768 yesterday on this. I'm working through some fun trying to get the plugin operational. Is it best practice to install it on the same server as vCenter or use a remote server? We are still setting up our Filers and have not presented netapp storage to them. However we have setup the filers with a seperate account for vCenter access, we set them to allow http access and we are not using SSL. The filers have dedicated IP addresses and I can manage them via Netapp System Manager etc. When I open VSC in vCenter and it goes off for a long time doing discovery then assuming it is registered with vCenter it will come back with one of the filers and a NAS device by IP. I want to rid the config of the NAS device that VSC thinks is a controller. Support sent a couple kb articles that aren't much help yet. https://kb.netapp.com/support/index?page=content&id=2011327 http://communities.netapp.com/docs/DOC-6534 I do not have a VSC.XML file on the system at this point perhaps due to all the times mucked with this thing. Right now I don't think it is properly registered with vCenter so discoveries come back empty. https://localhost:8143/register.html comes back as HTTP ERROR 403 Problem accessing /register.html. Reason: FORBIDDEN I don't know if this is good old Windows UAC or if the plugin is just foobar to use a Netapp term. Please give me something other than a stupid wizard to rely for configuration! Thanks
