Hi Hasmik, I think you are hitting the known issue of bug 770795. Pls open a case with NetApp support and add it to the same. Regards adai

Hi Muru, Some of the dir is already part of the database backup like 3,4,9 databaseBackupDir ( is the location where all backups are stored, its up to you if you want to copy them or not. The old backups) dataExportDir ( if you use data export functionality using dfm data export then you should copy it) dfmencKeysDir ( this is already part of a database backup) perfArchiveDir ( is the location where PA data is stored and is already part of a backup ) perfExportDir ( this is raw pa data exported using the cli dfm data export ) pluginsDir ( this is location of dfm plugins which are required only if you use configuration management. Anyways in the new install of 5.2 you will get all the ones) reportDesignPath ( is the location of BIRT reports and are not required as they are installed in 5.2) reportsArchiveDir (this is the location where the output of scheduled reports are stored, if you need them copy it) scriptDir.( this is the location where script plugins and its jobs are stored, this is already part of db backup) The contents of this doc is incorrect and needs correction..... Hi Dave, As far as I researched and found, there is not much difference in installing WFA on Standard or Enterprise. I did some google search and found this as the difference between S & E edition of W2k8. http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/solutions/OS%20Spec%20STDvENT_FINAL.pdf None of these are used in WFA that make a difference in using standard vs enterprise version. Hope this helps. Regards adai

Hi, Today we have Snapcreator integrated with WFA, and here you cam find the workflows for the same. https://communities.netapp.com/docs/DOC-27317#comment-18122. Could you build a workflow to automatically failover a SVM to the DR site? Yes, there are customers already building it. I am sure some one will soon share the same. How does OCUM integration work? There is a bit in one of the presentations about WFA integration for Protection support but I'm not clear how this works. With OCUM 6.1( soon to be released) & WFA 2.2 (which is already released), you can invoke, WFA workflows to setup snapmirror and snapvault, and do all kinds of active management using the same. Also we use OCUM as a cache data source for WFA. Is WFA all Powershell back end, or does it use API's? We use powershell commandlets which in turn use NMSDK. We have Perl based commands as well. Hope this helps. Regards adai

We Already have a RFE open for the same, the number for it is 737151. Pls add your customer case to this, so that its prioritized. Regards adai

Hi Did you compare the check-sum of your download against what is there in the site ? Segmentation fault, is most of the time due to corrupt downloads. Regards adai

Hi David, If DFM is showing 22 and WFA not showing the same is a problem with WFA, unless the cache acquisition from DFM is not complete. BTW is there a reason why you are still running 2.1 RC when we have 2.1 GA or even for that matter 2.2 RC. Regards adai

Hi Bill, As part of upgrade to OCUM 5.2, there is lot of database maintenance being done, I am sure you would have seen this messages during your restore operations. You are right with the Events part, starting version 5.2 and later, all event older than 6 months or the value specified in eventspurgeInterval, which ever is lower is used to purge events table to do db maintenance. Is there a reason why events older than 6months is still acted on ? Regards adai

Hi Thomas et-al, The fields from dp-transfer * reports that I showed in my previous post cant be added as a column to any custom report. All these reports are available only in Operations Manager or through cli as it is. Hope this helps and clarifies. Regards adai

Hi Mike, Pls add open a case for the same and add it to this bug. BTW could you explain a little bit more on the export-all ? Hope you are aware of how to open a case against WFA, if not here is the procedure for the same. Valid controller serial number to open case. ASUP from WFA (manual generation) and the WFA System ID. Regards adai

Hi Erik, I circled backed the workflow that you sent me, to the Engg team and this has been attributed to a known issue of bug # 740209. Pls keep an eye on the same, and open a customer case and add it to the bug, if this has any customer associated. BTW this is happens in case the custom function (only) is referenced from the return parameter, And this does NOT happen for canned functions even if referenced in the return parameter. The current suggested workaround are the following, which you have already done. 1. Export the function separately from workflow. Import both of them. 2. Write the function again manually or copy/paste. Regards adai Message was edited by: Adaikkappan Arumugam

Hi Korns, The reason why just a update from OCUM to WFA as well didnot work is because the way OCUM take to refresh or remove deleted entries from controller to its db. An object on the controller is discovered in OCUM, and when that gets deleted on the controllers, OCUM doesn't remove it from its database or mark it deleted until 1 hour or 4 cycle of discovery. This should not be the case it OCUM 6.x, but I think in your case it was 7Mode. Correct me if I am wrong. Regards adai

Hi Erik, What is the browser you used for exporting ? Also can you share both the dar file so that we can figure out whats happening ? Regards adai

IIRC, there is an API in UM 6.x to refresh samples on demand instead of waiting for 15mins. But this refresh is not as granular as it was in 7Mode. Instead in cDot the granularity is at a cluster. Inst that available as a cmd in WFA ? Regards adai

Hi, Can you run this command/cli on your dfm server and find what is the ip address configured and change the same. [root@vmlnx221-118 ~]# dfm host get <filername-or-id> Host: filer.name.domain Login: root Password: ******** Login Protocol: rsh Preferred IP address 1: Preferred IP address 2: Primary IP Address: 10.x.x.x. DFM communicates with the filer/controller using the IP specified against this opitons. Use dfm host set <filername-or-id> hostPrimaryAddress=<new IP address accessible via WFA/DFM> Hope this helps and solves your issue. Regards adai

Hi Chris, I dont have one for MS-SCOM or atleast not seen. But we do have Technical Reports with the following Orchestrators vCloud HP Operations Orchestration BMC Atrium Orchestration fluid Operations eCloudManager and Activiti Give a try in fieldportal for WFA and look for the Binder named "WFA Integration with various Orchestrators" Regards adai

Dave, technically WFA can work with both these products. As we expose web services api like REST and SOAP for integration with third-party tools. But as of today we don't have a plugin readily available for both of these . Could you be little more specific on what the expectation is? As well as what is planned as part of the integration in WFA with these tools. Your details will help us to help you better. Regards Adai

Hi Walter, Goto WFA> Administration> WFA Configuration> Advanced Change the value of option named" Maximum workflow job executions to keep" BTW can you give us more context on why you want you to go back to a workflow execution log. This option is based on lines to keep and not on age or days to keep. If you could give the customer or case details. Will add the same to the RFE already filed for the same. Regards Adai

Hi Thomas, Every report give this details.I am not sure what report you are referring to. [root@vmlnx~]# dfm report view dp-transfer-mirror-individual help DP Transfer Mirror, Individual Report (dp-transfer-mirror-individual) DP Transfer Mirror, Individual Columns: objId Relationship ID srcName Source Name dstName Destination Name status Status transStart Transfer Start transEnd Transfer End transTimeSeconds Duration transKBs Bytes Transferred transRate Transfer Rate /sec Default sort order is +objId. [root@vmlnx~]#

Hi Thomas, I think there is some confusion. Operations Manager by default provides data transfer reports for all kinds of relationship namely Volume SnapMirror Qtree SnapMirror SnapVault Open System SnapVault The built in report for item 1 is dp-transfer-mirror-* and for items 2 to 4 is dp-transfer-backup-* The only requirements is that both source and destination controllers needs to be monitored by Operations Manager. It doesnt matter, if the schedules are manged by Operations Manager or SnapMirror.conf or any third party scheduler. Regards adai
... View more
Hi Thomas, As long as the source and destination controllers are monitored by Operations Manager and if the relationship is being listed then you will find it under the following report. dp-transfer-mirror-* IIRC, starting version OCUm 5.2 we by default disabled the datatransfer log parsing, which you may have to enable. Regards adai
