OnCommand Performance Manager 1.1 RC1 Hostname and Static IP failing

I am not able to assign a hostname or static ip to a new install.  Hostname assigned is oncommand.<domain.com> and the ip is always DHCP. 

After first boot, I am prompted to install VMware Tools.  I have left this running for hours, and it never completes.

I found this document that discusses a problem with VWware tools in services Fusion causing problems with Performance Mgr.

I have not attempted this fix yet.  I opened a case yesterday, but have not received any assistance yet.

Anyone else able to succesfully deploy Performance Manager 1.1RC1?

Had the same issue previously.  Resorted to installing OPM 1.0 and applying the upgrade to 1.1 to resolve when needed.  Also noticed that on VSC 6 (recently deployed) a direct install of OPM 1.1 works as expected.
