OnCommand Reporter for performance analysis?

We have 200+ filers, OC 5.1 and Performance Advisor running with some thresholds giving events about NFS-latency and other things.

It’s kind of hard to keep track of performance for all these systems by just looking in the event view of the NMC.

As a first step we are currently sending these performance related events with SMTP to a Linux box, picking up relevant information from the mailbox with a script and importing to Excel to be able to eg. follow latency events for an object (volume, filer, ..).

Is there a way to use OnCommand Reporter to facilitate performance analysis?

Hello Ulf,

Performance related information is not acquired in OnCommand Report 1.1. This could be available in later releases.

If you haven't yet, you might want to have a look at the Analyze part of the OnCommand portfolio, OnCommand Balance and OnCommand Insight. They're not free though. OnCommand Balance is especially great if you're running VMware with your arrays. With this amount of arrays they could spare you some work in collecting, storing, presenting and analyzing your inventory and performance data. Feel free to ping me if you want pointers.

Regards.
