SME+SnapVault (pfiler to vfiler) managed by PM

Actually we have the following configuration:

- SME generate local backup onto pFiler1 (Site 1) then SnapVault onto pFiler2 (Site 2);

- This relationship is managed by PM;

We have bandwidth problem between Site 1 and Site 2, so we will change this configuration:

- SME generate local backup onto pFiler1 (Site 1) then SnapVault onto vfiler in pFiler3 (Site 1);

But we don't have access to pFiler3 (belong to our hosting service provider). In this situation, we can't add pFiler3 to OCUM and after the vfiler. Is it right ?

Is it possible to add pFiler3 with a read-only user account and then had vfiler with root access into OCUM?

PM can creates and manages SnapVault relationships Filer -> vFiler. Is it possible with a read-only user account?

I read that "PM creates and manages SnapVault relationships that are from physical Filer to physical Filer only" but pFiler3 is not in the same network as pFiler1 and vfiler. Have we to change pFiler3 network?

In our context for solving our problem, we are thinking about developping a PowerShell Script to do PM job.

Regards Samuel.

Hi Samuel,

            PM never talks to a vfiler directly, it always does it via the pfiler. AFAIK, its not possible to achieve what you are look for with out dfm managing the destination pfiler.

Hi Adaikkappan,

Thanks a lot for your answer.

Do you know which minimum right access we can use to add pfiler and vfiler to OCUM?
